Working on a one to one basis with a child or young person has many benefits- Individual attention with a session focused on their needs. A non-judgemental adult who is there to listen and to accept them unconditionally; to support them to understand their feelings and make the changes in their life that they want.
One to one sessions are child led and reactive to the presenting issue. The Dreadnought Centre offers a wide programme of one to one sessions, examples of which are listed below – this is not an exhaustive list however. Since it’s inception in 1976 the Charity has worked with most emotional and behavioural issues experienced by children and young people. If the issue you are seeking support for is not listed, please contact the Centre and speak to a team member.
“Dreadnought has been a fun experience that has really helped me with self esteem and anger issues and bullying, it has built my confidence to the max and I wish I could have done this a long time ago. It has helped me with my social skills and my school life. Thank you”
Dreadnought offers one to one sessions at it’s Centre in Pool, Redruth and on an outreach basis across the whole of Cornwall. There is a charge for these sessions and they are run in blocks of twelve weeks.
