Aspires Juniors is a  County wide project, based on the Aspires model, but for young people aged 7 – 12 years.

Funded by Aiming Higher for disabled children – Short Breaks, we are currently running Aspires Juniors groups in Redruth, St. Austell and Liskeard.

Like Aspires, the aims of the project are to develop and improve social skills, improve confidence and self esteem, to have fun and positive experiences and to promote social inclusion.

Young people initially join an evening group, which is held during the term time. We also run a summer activities programme during the school holidays. And, as with Aspires, when  young people are ready to move on from the group, we will help and support them to access community based social activities.

Young people need to be aged 7 – 12, have a definite diagnosis of ASC and be realistically able to meet the aims and objectives of the project. (Aspires Juniors is therefore most appropriate for young people who are high functioning.)
